My journey to authentic health
I created Intended For Wellness to be a place of encouragement and clarity for women who are tired of feeling stuck in their health journeys, frustrated by confusion, restriction, and the pursuit of perfectionism. If that sounds like you, know that you’re not alone. I’ve been there too.
I chased health through extremes for years, believing that wellness required flawless execution and constant control. Despite my best efforts, I often felt disconnected from my body and further from my goals. Like so many others, I had lost sight of one crucial truth: the body has an innate drive toward healing and balance; it just needs the right inputs and a supportive mindset to thrive.
My Journey to Realistic Holistic Wellness
I grew up in a home where health was modeled in a positive, balanced way. Health was prioritized without obsession. Yet as I grew older, I internalized the idea that wellness meant perfection. After college, I struggled to find a middle ground, bouncing between different forms of restriction in an attempt to “get it right.”
When my health began to unravel with an autoimmune diagnosis and mysterious bloodwork results, my focus shifted from appearance to feeling better. I dove into countless plans and protocols to piece together answers. But instead of clarity, I found myself overwhelmed with conflicting advice, rigid rules, and an endless cycle of trial and error.
Discovering an intuitive approach to eating brought some relief, as it encouraged me to let go of rigid rules and reconnect with my body. But it wasn’t until I returned to foundational health practices—nourishing my body with simple, wholesome foods, consistent movement, and creating space for rest—that I found sustainable peace. I began to trust my body’s innate resilience and embraced the beauty of imperfect wellness.
